This is really interesting! I’m a psychologist too and increasingly recognising how much I struggle with doing therapy but that I think I’m quite good at assessments and my real love is writing reports/ therapeutic letters.

Oh yes I love a therapeutic letter! And a complex assessment. I do really find therapy rewarding too though but I think there are reasons for that- I enjoy formulating and collaborating on an understanding of someone’s experience. And I think I chose perinatal work because there is such a particular focus which I never cease to find fascinating. There are some areas of therapy that I just cannot do, and I now accept that! (Like anything manualised 🤢)

I’m also a psychologist and was thinking exactly the same! Also increasingly recognising a love of an info dump! Thank you for sharing this.

Wow this is so interesting !! I relate so much. I love when I can understand the flip side to something that I’ve always found confusing and possibly a source of shame. I love to info dump and feel so connected with who ever or wherever I do this . Thank you for the insight.
